What’s closed for July 4th in the San Fernando Valley area

Here is a sampling of government offices and services that are closed or have altered hours for the Fourth of July.

Banks: Banks and financial markets are closed.

Government: City, county, federal and state offices, libraries and superior courts are closed.

Mail: The U.S. Postal Service does not deliver. www.usps.com

Schools: Closed.

Transit: Buses and subway services in Los Angeles run on a Sunday/holiday schedule (www.metro.net). Metrolink trains do not operate on the Ventura County Line. The Antelope Valley line runs on a Sunday service schedule. (www.metrolinktrains.com).

Trash: Pickup is delayed by one day in Los Angeles beginning with Thursday’s trash being picked up on Friday. Friday’s trash is picked up on Saturday. www.lacitysan.org Regular pickup in Burbank (bit.ly/2zmo1LD) and Glendale (bit.ly/1Pvpsqa).
